The Eternal Flame is a known landmark in Downtown Huntsville, typically located in Big Spring International Park. The image provides a perspective of the park's bluff and water feature, which is the immediate environment where the flame is situated. 

The eternal flame at the Huntsville-Madison County Veterans Memorial is a memorial to honor all veterans from Huntsville and Madison County, particularly those who died, were imprisoned, or remain missing in war. Dedicated on Veterans Day in 2001, the memorial features the flame, along with bronze statues, a reflecting pool, and granite panels listing the names of 365 Madison County soldiers who died in service.
